Fit Yourself Into A Biblical Church

Should a Biblical church fit you and your life or should you and your life fit a Biblical church? Both should happen, but if you do not fit yourself into a church you are not doing your part and you are preventing the church from doing its part. You are crippling yourself and you are crippling the church. Two or three cripples can accomplish a lot more than one cripple. If you are out of step with the body of Christ, you are out of step with its head, the Lord Jesus Christ. Individual believers who do not regularly attend church are not regularly in fellowship with its Head. Individuals who do not want to be accountable to a church do not want to be accountable to its head. A very accurate barometer of a believer*s relationship with the Lord is his relationship with the local church. A very accurate barometer of a believer*s relationship with the universal church is his relationship with the local church. We need to be in fellowship with real believers who work and sweat and smell and bleed and cry and make mistakes.

1 Corinthians 12:12: For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many. 15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

Ecclesiastes 4:9: Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. 10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. 11 Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? 12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Matthew 18:19: Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

If you are not faithfully part of a local church, you are not pleasing the Lord, you will have greater difficulty getting up when you fall into sin, you won*t be as zealous for the Lord, you won*t prevail in spiritual battles as often and you will be a weaker Christian whose prayers often go unanswered. Are those the results that you want?
